Epi-blading, also known as derma-planing is a treatment with multiple benefits. It is a gentle exfoliating treatment that helps to remove excess skin cells leaving skin smooth and soft. It is also an excellent treatment for the removal of soft “peach fuzz” hair from the face, neck and upper lip. This treatment is great for very soft blonde hair that cannot be treated with a laser or too fine for Electrolysis.
At Epilase, epi-blading is a popular treatment amongst our clients for the removal of soft baby hair from the face as this type of hair is not suitable to treat with laser or electrolysis.

Common questions
Prior to your treatment, we cleanse and assess your skin. A surgical blade is used, working this along the skin’s surface to remove the dead skin cells, sitting on the surface of the skin and removing surface hair.
Epiblading will not make hairs thicker, darker or stimulate hair growth in any way. This is a great alternative for those with really sensitive skin and those with blonde hairs that won’t respond to laser hair removal.
Not at all. Epi-blading is a very relaxing treatment. You may feel some scraping on the skin however there is no pain associated with this treatment.
No there is no major down-time with epi-blading. Your skin may feel slightly sensitive from removing the hair and some surface skin cells. It may look slightly flushed however settles within a couple of hours.
Your skin will feel and look smooth and glowing after your treatment.
We recommend minimising direct sun exposure a week before. A sunburn would leave your skin too vulnerable for epi-blading treatment.
Avoiding exfoliation at home for 3-5 days.
Avoiding direct sun exposure for 5-10 days post procedure
No heat based skin treatments ie Laser or waxing for 7-14 days.
Avoid any activities that involves heat ie strenous activities, steam rooms/ saunas.
Avoid exfoliating products for 3-5 days or as advised by your clinician.
